Let me start by saying I wholeheartedly agree that if a player decides to stick a finger, or both fingers for that matter toward opposing football fans, many of whom will more than likely be children then that particular so-called professional should be punished. If you were lucky enough to work at McDonald’s and proceeded to give the finger to one of the paying customers you would more than likely be dismissed, but then if one of your colleagues were to do exactly the same thing the following week would you not expect to see them get exactly the same punishment, and more importantly if you had not received any punishment from your bosses for your misdemeanor, should your colleague expect the same.
So Luis Suarez makes a finger gesture toward Fulham fans and receives a £20,000 fine and a one match ban.
This is that gentlemen of the beautiful game Mr Wayne Rooney giving the same sign language toward Chelsea football fans some who would have been children who hero-worship Mr Rooney. So what kind of fine or punishment did he receive from the custodians of our beautiful game, well as there was no evidence he was actually directing this gesture toward supporters and in fact was making a point to the referee that he should use his eyes, he received no punishment.
In the same fixture where Luis Suarez gestured toward the Fulham supporters, Liverpool football club were also charged with failing to control their players. So what were they guilty of, well as a Liverpool player was sent off for a reckless challenge on a Fulham player the Liverpool players surrounded the referee to tell him they thought he was wrong, something that is seen every weekend at every Premier League game where a contentious decision is made. The result that Liverpool were fined £20,000 there is a theme starting here.
Quite a few teams looking out of control!!!!!
Now this season has seen many teams looking completely out of control, but would you believe that not one of the above teams has either been charged or warned about this behaviour, one rule for one McDonald’s employee and another rule for the other!!!
The very same organisation gave Jay Spearing a three match ban for his sending off in the Fulham game for what was at worst a genuine if miss timed challenge and probably only deserved a yellow card, around the same time the FA are appealing to FIFA to get Wayne Rooney off a three match International ban which he received for deliberately kicking out at an opponent out of pure frustration and stupidly getting himself sent off.
So Wayne Rooney is England’s saviour and of huge importance to the English FA and his Manager Sir Alex Ferguson is well in with the FA and can constantly use his media machine to his own and his players benefit, the other Luis Suarez is of no interest to the FA and has been called a diver from Sir Alex, of course he would never suggest his players were ever capable of diving, Ronaldo, Van Nistlerooy, Nani to mention a few who have also been accused of diving. So who are they going to side with, well whoever it suits them at a particular time, my point is they have no real credibility
